7040 cutting hay

bought a new 283 9ft krone cutter last week.hooked it to the 7040 and cut about 30acs.it pulled the cutter with ease.the 7040 is getting a nice work out in the hay field.itll be hauling and stacking hay soon.

7040 (65 pto) is marginal for a disc machine in the 9 foot class (if it has crimper rolls).

this just the disc cutter.i wont ever have another mow/co.we ran it at 1800 2000 rpms in in low 3.it cut just fine.didnt have any problems pulling it.

...and I won't run any disc machine without a crimper behind the cutter bar. Disc machines aren't Mo-Co's, they are discbines btw.

Technically Mo-Co is a JD trademark name for mower-conditioner. My M7040 pulls a 9'2'' cut Vermeer 7040 disc cutter with ease in 5 bale to the acre Coastal Bermuda.
