69 model ford 4000 hard starting

My ford 4000 runs great cranks right up when it's warm uses no oil what so ever, but the tractor if you leave the fuel shut off in as in the run position it takes forever to start usually kills the battery, but if you pull it out an leave it out it'll crank right up the next day. what's my problem I've fixed every fuel leak in it even changed an injector? I've redone all the leaking on the injection pump top too

The only thing I can think of is that it is leaking back from the injectors and through the pump when the shut lever off isn't in the OFF position. There must be an air leak somewhere.

Do you think one of the injector lines would cause this or maybe one of the injectors isn't sealing completely I've put one injector in it because it was smoking at idle cleared up now its smoking again

I wonder if I should get new injector lines one is retarded and u have to force it when tightening its after market so it doesn't fit good

ay weeping around the injector lines?

spray everything down with carb cleaner and let dry.. then after setting.. look for wet oily diesel seepage.

do this ont he injector pump.. and hard lines as well.

Well it's the only thig else I could think of beside changing the pump but my pump sprays pretty good when bleeding fuel but mine is acting up again and it's hard to start

I'm not sure what's going on still I think the feed line coming into the pump is leaking

Finally fixed it yesterday it kept loosing prime and getting air in the lines. So I thought about it yesterday at work and said I haven't checked the oil in a bit. so I checked it it seemed thin. I smelled it smelled like diesel. Then I knew exactly what it was the oil seal in front of the pump was bad
