Need advice about this grapple. Found the add and talked with the guy: he said is a 66" around 500lbs and is asking $1300CAD not sure the brand. I'm planing to used it on my kubota L3800. Do you think is too big for my toy, is the right price.....?

Thx.

Think the price is ok, but I had an M7040 with a Markham 48", and I would not want anything wider. There was nothing I couldn't handle with the 48" that was within the capabilities of the tractor itself. You stand a better chance of 'rooting' things out with the 48 than the 66. Plus less weight. I uprooted several trees with my setup. I wish I hadn't of sold the tractor, but if I get into a position of getting another a 48" grapple is one of the first attachments I would get. I think you would be considerably happier with nothing bigger than 48".

A lot of the guys with that size tractor are buying the wildcats in the 48 inch economy model size. They are calling and asking for a "deal" seems to be about $600.
You might try them.

I also would advise going with the 48" grapple. Lighter and easily strong enough for your tractor. Many with much heavier tractors and stronger loaders have the basic 48" light duty style grapples and are very happy. Wildkat, Gator and a few others make these and you can have them delivered for less than a grand.

I recently bought a 3800 and just received my new 48" wildkat last week. Getting 3rd function installed tomorrow. I went with the 48" simply because of weight. $733.00 delivered. Look forward to using it for the first time.

48" wildkat listed on website at 425 lbs but actual weight is about 385lbs. I would hesitant to put a 500 lbs grapple on myself. Weight of 48" seems about right to me.

Another very satisfied Wildkat 48 owner here. And I second the point about the 48" being more versatile in terms of digging brush/small trees. More width means less concentrated power in my book. In terms of handling straight piled brush, it does the job as well. And remember, more weight you have in the grapple, less payload you have. See attached pic of mine- I ordered it without hooks and was welding the Deere "system" on in this photo. this thing is rugged.

Definitely depends on what your uses will be. If you're primarily going to use for moving brush, I don't think the extra 18" or 100 lbs would hurt you. But if you're planning to pop stumps, I would agree the 48" might be a better choice.

I recently bought a 66" versetech grapple, but for a 50 HP tractor. Got it at a Ritchie Bros auction, many of their auction have grapples, but typically from
66"-84". I paid $700 for mine out the door.

$1300 is probably around average price, maybe a good deal with the notorious Canadian inflated prices....

If you're not in a rush, and want a great deal, I'd keep looking.....or maybe call Wildcat.
Good luck!
