There are only a couple of gas stations in my area that offer diesel... and none of them are 20-foot equipment trailer friendly. :(

The nearest truck stop is many towns and miles away.

One of the benefits of living where I do is we have plenty of sources for diesel.

It wasn't that long ago that we had no diesel in my town or in any bordering town. I used to have to drive to a truck stop 3 exits down the interstate... which, by the way, is no longer in business.

I take it the proliferation wave of heavy duty diesel pickups has not yet reached Taxachusetts?

Dougster,
Have you been grubbing for roots yet with that new root bucket? :D

Oh, they are certainly here... and in growing numbers as they become something of a status symbol... but it's not at all like down South and in other more rural parts of the country. I remember my first deployment to hurricane country in 2004 when I was shocked to see that nearly every working heavy-duty pickup truck was a diesel... most of them dually's! Seeing a heavy-duty gasoline-power pickup truck actually doing cleanup and recovery work was a real hoot! :D

Not yet I'm afraid. I hurt my left foot rather badly a couple weeks back and have been about 90% out of commission since then. It had nothing to do with the tractor or work... but it's backed me up terribly. Even now, I can barely walk and can't stand for more than maybe 15 minutes at a time. Had to cancel one paying job outright and indefinitely postpone another. My next scheduled work isn't until the week of the 27th.

Dougster,
Sorry to hear that. I am off work also with a bruised knee. It might get an MRI. :( But that doesn't keep me off of the Big Red Beast. ;)

Well, this one has really slowed me down. I ain't no kid anymore! And everytime I try to do something, I seem to make it worse. Been using the "Half Red Beast" here and there... but only around the yard.

It's tough getting old ya know!!! :(
