650G Dozer how many hours are too many?

I am looking a 650G Series IV dozer for sale local to me and it has 15,000 hours. It is a very clean looking machine and the only thing that I have found to be concerned about is the high hours. So does this old girl still have a good bit of life left for farm use or is it close to the end of its life expectancy?

That is a lot of hours. The undercarriage is a large expense on a dozer. With that many hours I would be looking at blowby and how the transmission is holding. It better be real cheap with that many hours. Don't believe a seller on the undercarriage wear, spend a few dollars and have a dealer come out and look it over.

That's a lot more hours than I would take a chance on, unless I was a heavy equipment mechanic with good connections for parts...

Agree that is a lot of hours but the real consideration should be how well has it been maintained. Present condition is what matters. I agree with others about taking an experienced mechanic with track/dozer background with you to assess the machine.
