Looks like my industrial will be caught in the flooding from Florence. It is in Conway SC. I have been working on it slowly over the summer and only had to but the rebuilt carb on to get it going and now the flood. ANY suggestions on how to get it up and running quickly without a complete teardown???

Thank Rick Sladewski

Change fluid and filters immediately when you get the chance. Run it a while say 10 hours and change it again. Do the coolant, power steering, engine and transmission. It would also be a good idea to put penetrating oil on you brake linkages too. Anything that moves.

Sounds like that's a gas engine in that MF 35. Don't try to turn it over unless you have removed the spark plugs in case water got into the cylinders.

And drain that oil bath air filter

Thank You all for the replies. So Far all that has been planned for. Battery was removed before hand and tail pipe closed so no water motion could drive it deeper in. Also carb hole was sealed too. Plugs were left in, but marine cylinder spray was squirted in (the stuff I use on the boat engine for the winter, called fogging spray I believe) All linkage and bearings were re-greased. Any suggestions on the wiring harness? So far it is sitting high and dry, so far (fingers crossed, knocking on wood)

So far it's Ok, but I hope it isn't still rising. How's things at present? Anything else badly affected?

I'm quite familiar with battling floods, but anything more than a severe storm is very infrequent here.

Our US friends preparing for this has been on my mind for several days. Hope all stay safe, and damage stays low.
