'63 ford 4000

Just got a 63 model ford 4000 with a forklift conversion, what is the charging system form the factory, it has a alternator on it so I know it was converted

A 1963 should be a 4 cylinder engine. If so, the factory system was 6V Positive ground for gas engines and 12V Negative ground if Diesel.

I've made some head way on the ford 4000 forklift, got the engine running checked the function of the lift everything works good, I replaced the point, rotor distributor cap and plugs, cleaned and put a kit in carb. For a machine that has not run in God knows how long the ol' thing run pretty darn good. I'm working on the steering part of it now

I almost made a forklift out of my 850.. but the mast I was looking at had a bad ram so i passed on it.
