62D Mower Deck replacement parts for 2520

I am curious if it is possible to buy replacement parts that aren't through JD. At $140 for a couple of items I broke, I just really find it hard to believe that those parts are that expensive (well from JD I do). From the diagram I found I need LVA12813, M140572, 45M7057, and LVA10866. All the carnage was caused because of a carter key that broke somehow when the mower deck lift linkage was raised and tied off so that it couldn't be lowered. The carter key that broke was at the high suspended end, which let the pin come out of the front yoke and let the rear drop and let all those parts to bite the dirt.

If you use stainless steel COTTER keys in the future, they are less likely to come out because they are about twice as hard as deere yellow zinc plated steel COTTER keys. You will have to buy the linkage parts from deere, and the SST COTTER keys from a marine hardware supply. Good luck!

Place a piece of 1/2" flat stock between the two pieces with elongated holes and hammer it back into the correct position. Nothing broken, just needs persuasion. Mine looked worse. Just take your time and it will return to the right shape.

I totally agree. I wouldn't replace those parts.

Been there, done that.

The hour meter on my 2520 read just under 40. After considerable discussion, the dealer replaced the bent parts under warranty.

I figure I got lucky!
