62/63 Ford 2000 rpm surging.

Hey all,
I just bought a Ford 62 2000 gas that is mechanically good to go with the exception of one thing. While driving it around, especially at low RPM, the engine RPM surges up and down slowly. The proof meter doesn't work (just ordered a new one) so I'm not sure of the RPM swing. Does this sound like a carb issue or is there something else you guys have seen before?

Does it do it at higher rpms too or just at idle. Is it running rough or is it running good just varying?

It is more pronounced at low rpm but is still detectable at higher rpm. Runs smooth and starts great. The rpm just surges up and down.

check springs on the gov.

see if a lil choke helps.

many times a fuel shortage makes them hunt, but a lil choke masks it as a test.

otherwise it's down to springs and the gov itself.

I fattened up the mixture and it smoothed it out. Must have been lean. Thanks for the input guys.
