I have a 660 Ford [600 series] I have only owned this tractor for 3 years and don't know the history - I recently replaced the distributor cap and rotor - the old rotor had a little medal clip that went in side the rotor shaft hole. I tried to put the clip into the new rotor, but could not see how it fit in the new rotor - here's my question - Do I really need the little metal clip? the old rotor seemed to be messed up in the shaft hole. I thought maybe the newer rotors don't need the metal clip?? Maybe someone can enlighten me on this subject. Pic is of the old rotor
