60\" MMM Spindle Disassembly

Does anyone know how to take off the bottom flange (under the deck) of the center spindle on the BX 60" mower deck? Does the gearbox have to be disassembled? Removing the 4 bolts doesn't do it.

Haven't had to disassemble a MMM as of yet so I can't help in that regard but you can request & recieve an illustrated parts breakdown from TractorSmart.com which may help.

IF you are talking about that cone shaped piece on the shaft just above the blade, here's how. Remove the blade. Take a small pocketknife blade or something with a small pointed tip, and scrape all the dried out muck out of the circular groove between this flange and the area around it. I couldn't get mine off this past Saturday because pulverized wet starch from grass had gotten into the space and dried into a virtual cement. Scrape it all out while continuing to rotate the flange. Eventually it will slide right off. IF your'e inquiring about some other part, I apologize for misunderstanding your question.
