6' tiller and 4035

At 30 to 33 pto hp, it would never run my 6' Howard in anything but gardens...

I've had it on a good strong 35 pto farm tractor and it would over load it if run for any length of time, tilling fields, especially in the summers heat...

I run it on my 45hp tractor...

I think it would be asking a lot of the tractor unless the ground had been previously worked. In old sod or heavy sod I think it would be tough going.

Thanks all. I do have a 2 bottom plow and anything I till will be plowed first. I rented a 5' tiller this year and it handled it well with the plowed ground. But it did leave me thinking that the 5' just might be the max.

I run a 6 foot tiller on my 4025 (31 PTO HP) and it handles it well. That being said, I do not have rocks or heavy clay. I have tilled pasture and any small vegetation does not load it up. I do like the way that the 6 foot machine covers the tractor tracks.

The 4035 will handle a 6 foot tiller, and you will want the 6 foot to cover your tracks. I've tilled up to 4 acre food plots with mine on unbroken pasture. Only time its struggled was on wet ground, and that was due to the tractor tires loading up. Just understand you will be going slow.

Thanks all. Going slow is not a problem. It's not that big of a plot and any time spent on the tractor is happy time.

It will handle most 6 ft tillers fine. Rob's Howard tiller is most likely in another class, cost 3 times what most pay for a tiller.
