Hello Folks

I'm installing a 6 port diverter valve (Italian made - no name) on my Excavator. Its ports are labelled A1,A2, B1, B2 and C.

Normally and according to the flow diagram I have I'd connect the input flows to the "A" ports. However to mount the valve to the optimum orientation (solenoid down?) it would be better to use the "B" ports for input flow.

Does anyone know if this will create a problem?

Thanks
Foster

On a 6 ported valve two of the ports are the "common" ports. These two are connected to supply and return lines of the main system. Connecting the valve differently will not provide the diverted function.

You will need to determine the flow path of your valve and plumb it accordingly

In the de-energized condition determine which ports are connected by blowing air through them. Then energize the coil and determine which ports are connected. This will determine how to plumb your valve.

Example de-energized
A1 connected to B1
A2 connected to B2

Energized
A1 connected to C1
A2 connected to C2

Above example A1 & A2 are the common ports

Thanks, I realize from your reply the answer to my question is No. When the valve energises it won't open the path from "B" ports to "C" ports.

Much appreciated.
