6.7 is a 2003 f350?????

wanting to go look at a 2003 ( april 03 on door jamb ) f350.. but the sales guy is telling me it has a 6.7 diesel???

I'm not familiar with this engine??

don't want to drive 2.5 hours to see something that's based on wrong / bad info..

I thought that would be a 7.3 in early 03, and the late 03 manufacture dates for 04 models could / would be a 6.0

any insight?

That should be the 7.3L, unless some one has done a transplant. And it is too new to be a 6.9L.

see... that's exactly what I was thinking.. 1, I never heard of a 6.7 and the year is wrong for the new diesel.. with an apr 03 door tag, per the dealership guy..it would have to be a 7.3it would seem.. unless, as you say.. it's had a transplant.

makes you wonder how people own / sell a vehicle and don't even know what they have????

suposedly the truck belongs to the dealerships owner.. he used to sell boats, and now is getting into vehicles as well.. his brother also has a dealership.. which is where i initially saw the truck listed as the brother does not have his website setup yet.. yada yada.. long story.. etc.

To swap the new 6.7l Powerstroke in there would be grossly expensive, and it would not be any less to do the 6.7L Cummins swap.

Please keep us posted. Sounds like bad info on there part.

waiting on a call back now.. I asked the guy to vincheck the engine to see what is REALLY under the hood....and then call me back.

if it's not a 7.3 I'm really not interested. don't know a thing about any other ford diesels other than the 6.0 and 7.3.. and really want the 7.3

The new one is a 6.7. The 7.3 is still heavily sought after. Hope it works in your favour.

Either that or they could have been a previous Ford dealer. Just kidding but several of the dealers I've talked to recently don't seem to know their trucks very well... Not all that way, but pretty common these days. :/

The only gas motors were the 4.6, 5.4 and V10. Was the V10 6.7l? Maybe its not a diesel?

Ford started with a International 6.9L They then went to a International 7.3L followed by a International Turbo Powerstroke. Prior to that they were non turbo other than some aftermarket Turbos being installed.

In Late 2003 they went to the 6.0L They ran that motor made by International till late 2007 What made the 6.0L a interesting motor was they did away with the waste gate on the turbo and used a Variable Vane turbo which now is used on all later Powerstrokes and the Duramax made by GM. It was a much better setup.

In 2007 they switched to a 6.4 with twin turbos. Again Variable Vane and made by International but do to fighting over warranty work on all Powerstrokes but especially the 2003 and early 2004 6.0L motors they parted ways.

In 2010 or 2011 Ford introduced the 6.7L which is a motor made in house by Ford.
