580c won\'t start & it\'s only -10F
Hey all,
Well we came home late last night to find that the dealer had dropped off the 580 backhoe right in front of the house. Got to move it to a better spot. It has been below zero, F. She wouldn't start last night so I plugged her in [see photo] at 7pm. Today, she still won't start. The block is slightly warm around the plug you see but ofcourse the rest is like cold. The electric is flowing, tested that. She cranks real slow, almost like the battery was going dead. Tried jumping from 4x4 battery, still same slow turning, cranking. Gave a couple of shots of starter spray [did not like doing that] into the air intake "mushroom", nothing but same slow whirl turn. At the dealer, ofcourse she started just perfect everytime. This week it is supposed to get around 20 F, yeah right.
Can I use any engine block magnetic heater on the engine?
Any ideas? Thanks all /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
