580 B trans slipping

My 580 B will sometimes slip in forward and reverse in all gears until it stops moving even under full power. I then take it out of gear and put the lever in forward or reverse and set the rpm higher and let it sit for 10 mins. I then put it in gear and it works fine? Can anyone help?

Yep, those old B's were known for this problem, your trans. pump suction pipe that goes down into the trans oil has a wire mesh screen on the end of it and over the years enough crud gets built up on it that it stops it up and the pump cant pump any oil, if you take the load off it the oil will gradually seep in around the crud and it will work again for a while then do it again.

Good 'ol B's. I use them at work and I don't think I would use one for often on a job. I'd keep it at home or whatever to load and unload materials from/for the job.
