it sould not be necessary to crack injectors at time of bleeding, trust me on this one i have bled bunches on non commonrail diesels at work and only on occasion with a really stubborn engine did i have to do this and this is on large 6cyl yanmars (440's) that we were putting in our yachts it was 2 engines every 6 days or so at our peak. this also included close to 30 feet of fuel line. that being said when i changed the one in my dodge (it was a bear) it took a few minutes to get it going right.

Just reading some old posts, the outer air filter for a 5740C is NAPA 6489. There is no replacement for the inner filter I have found. It seems most newer assemblies got rid of the inner and just used the outer filter.

The Napa part number for the inner filter that fits the 6489 outer filter ( I have a 4344 hst), is 6490. This was found by my napa guy as my tractor did not have one installed; and I was happy to find it fit!
