Tractor
57 Ford Model 850
I have an opportunity to buy a 57 800 gas with a factory ford loader and front pump. Really solid honest tractor most sheet metal laser straight. rear fenders are not bad 3pt hitch.NO CRACKS Anywhere on AXLES or LOADER. I'm really interested I/E CASH IN Pocket right now. My ONLY hesitation is it's a loader with no ps. I see some kits around for close to the application, but not quite. I've been trying JPS for a ballpark # but they apparently don't return price requests. Original ps set ups I've seen are generally incomplete and not cheap for parts missing units.

Is there a way to do this without breaking the bank or reengineering an entire system. remember I live in NH you can't spit on the ground without a rock coming up so ps is pretty important with a loader. I've only dealt with IH power steering, the man reason I'm thinking ford LOL.
TIA, Mike

jackson has had some huge health probs.. that's not an excuse.. just saying.

he does sell a kit with a priority valve and orbital valve that will use your laoder pump and completely remove your steering box..e tc.

or, or can find an old kit on a tractor in a junkyard.

was you refering to my post about the kit i was quoted at a salvae yard ?, i talked to mr jacson on the phone about his system , he was very knowlagable and informitive , if i had the money i would get one of his setups , he explained his system, answered my questions, now the kit i was quoted at the junkyard i did not get much information on it not enuff to feel good about buying this kit sight unseen , un like the jps , i was going to try and send you a email to ask you about this kit in question. (for i am don't have that kind of money)

Well I do have update of sorts, I bought IT!! I'll have it here tomorrow a.m. I got him to $2k. For a complete running working loader tractor that's a steal. When it gets here I can look into a few options for powering the steering. I'll keep updates if I find out anything.

You can do like Soundguy and I did and put a backhoe on the back and you will have the next best thing to power steering. :)
From your description I'd say you stole the tractor. Congratulations.

You can look around for a dead 601/801 (more likely to have PS). Buy it cheap strip off the PS and anything else you need and then sell the tractor or find someone parting out a tractor.

yep. one with a dead engine or rear could be had sub 1000$ easy.

strip the parts. then sell the rest of the good ( engine, trans, rear, then scrap out the stuf for sure bad.

maybee even keep some rubber.. etc...

Thanks, I just emailed a guy about a backhoe he said if the tractor didn't sell this weekend he would part it out.
