555 4x4 transfer case

My case cracked due to a bolt coming free and getting caught in the gears. I bought a new case and when transferring my parts over the shaft that holds the fork has 2 little springs and ball bearings holding it in place. How to get the top spring and ball in is my question if anyone has dealt with it.

Pushed it up with a screwdriver and pushed the pin in. Got to be quick, but it's in. The balls act as a detent for the 4x4 shifter.
