#55 Chain Repair

I have some new rolls of #55 detachable chain Links and need to add some attachments links. I see how you line them up to slide apart, but its not easy to do with out pounding your fingers to death!! Is there any tricks to this or a tool designed specifically for this?

Yes, there is a tool for that job...... and you are correct!!! you will beat your fingers to death with out one. I have not had to use one in years and has been years since I have seen one.

As a guess... I would try with the people that make chain or the people that sell chain. The ones I have used would hold 3 differant style links. If you find one and it does not come with instructions.... contact me I will try and tell you how if you need help.

i figured as #55 doenst mean much for chain saw chain.

the granger link is for the "roller" chain or chain used on drive systems.

the other link was to chain saw tools but they have other version for drive chain you just have to poke around on the website a bit.
