54c or 62c for 2305?????

deciding between 54c or 62c does any body have pro's cons? thanks

Bigger is always better right? But seriously, the larger deck make trimming and getting close to objects (like fences) much easier because it sticks out past the wheels more.

Maybe if you give us a little clue as to what kind of area/terrain you need to mow if could get some better answers.

Have to agree with kennyd. My choice would be 62C for the same reasons. I had a 62C mmm on a X485 tractor for about 4 yrs. Great mower but not the easiest to attach and remove from the X485. Could be easier on a 2305.

The wifes 2305 has a 62 deck and she spent yesterday whacking down the tall stuff in the back. No power issues. Unless there is clearance issues I would suggest the 62.

Go big or go home.

Only 2 things would keep me from the bigger one:

Scalping issues
Places that are too narrow for the larger deck (gates, trees, etc).

I have had both on X series tractors and prefer the 62C. I found it to offer a smoother cut. Please note though, it is not that much faster than a 54C. There is some difference, not great. I would say also the deck is pretty wide, even on a 2305 so make sure you can clear tight areas and especially the inside wells of your trailer if you intend on hauling it around at all.

I've had a 2305 with the 62C deck for several years and I'm very satisfied with the overall function and cut quality. Another point to consider is the uncut circle. It's significantly smaller with the 62C...
