What would a person with a LK3054 use the 1000pto for?

I can't really find a straight answer on compact tractors. I find a lot of information bigger ones(50hp +)

Depending on the implement you could use them. Example would be a snow blower. You would just have to drive slower than a larger tractor with the same blower.

My kubota has a 540 /1000 rpm selector on the pto and the mid pto runs at 1000 only. The implement must match the rpm range unless it can stand the higher or lower speed input.

Somebody asked that a while back. One of the answers was that many european attachments use the 1000 rpm. As oldnslo mentioned, some run their snowblower with the 1000pto speed and then only have to be around 1700 engine rpm to get the same speed on the blower. Would save engine speed and fuel if the engine developed enough hp for the job.

I use the 1000 option with my blower(conditions allowing) and my chipper. I hate listening to the engine running at 2600 while chipping, when I can run at 1600 and get the 540 required.

Do the new tractors like this run the 1000PTO on the same shaft as the 6-spline 540?????

I know back in the day on the larger tractors, they had two pto shafts. the 6-spline was 540. The 1000PTO was a much finer splined. 20 splines maybe????

Grandpa had an International 574 back on the farm and it had the dual PTO's.

We used it on things like generators and pumps. That way the tractor RPM's didnt have to be as high. But the yolk on the PTO shaft needed changed to match the splines.

Same 6 spline

Same 6 spline

I guess I wasnt aware they were doing that now.

Kinda suprises me that they are. Especially in the good ole US of A with OSHA and all.

Seems like it would be a good way for a bushhog or something to self-destruct if you were to use the wrong PTO speed.:confused2::confused2:

The 8n with sherman that we have is capable of 1231 RPM PTO speed in step-up range at WOT. We once accidentally left the tractor in step up with the JD261 mower on the back. Engaged the PTO and it sounded like a helicopter taking off. Man did that thing spool up some RPM's:confused2:

I'll bet it did :confused2: It wouldn't surprise me to learn of a lawsuit concerning just that
