'54 or'55 800

My brothers 800 has started dying out when a load is put on the tractor. It can run well when raking hay but acts like it is starving for gas when mowing up hill or pulling a load. ( new carb,vented cap, cleaned tank). Help!

Open the load jet a quarter to half turn. If that doesn't help, check the carb's float level.

a lil choke help any?

have you checked fuel flow to the carb?

ditto what rick said.. that new carb may not have had the main needle enriched enough.
