How do you tell the difference on a Kubota between a 54" Regular cut and a 54" fine cut mower deck what model is the fine cut and what model is regular.

My understanding is that the fine cut decks are 1" deeper, allowing for better cutting and mulching action. The deck model number depends on the mower or tractor it is attached to. If you're looking at a deck for a current tractor model, you can "Build My Kuboa" at Kubota.com, select a deck in Attachments, then press "Back to Quote" and then press the "View/Print Quote" button to see the part numbers.

Example for a BX24:
Regular Cut: RCK54-23BX-54
Fine Cut: RCK54P23BX-54

If you're purchasing a new BX series and you want a midmount mower I would go for the rck-54P (P for Pro I believe). It's the same deck used on the Kubota "Z" mowers. Not much price difference (100-200) but you could probably haggle with the dealer and get it for the same price as the cheaper rck-54.

I opted to out of the midmount when I purchased mine and got the Woods 54 finish mower for the same price. Easier to hook up and remove. I didn't want the deck hanging below the tractor due to some of the places I take it.

Hope this helps.
