!523 Owners, a Question for you.

Hi All,

Dad & I were looking at some 1500 at the local MF dealer, and posted a question in another thread about the PTO. ( What I wanted to know is if when you step on the clutch, does it drop, and from what my Dealer told me, they do not. Electric engagement. )

My next question is are you happy with it? Has it done what you expected? and how well does it do pto related chores?

I assume all the MFs with electric pto will do the same thing, it only turns off/on by the switch (um is that "live" pto? noobie I am). So with that said, I like that my PTO doesn't stop, but I really only do bush hogging with mine. IF there is anything bad about, one major thing IMO, the electric pto safety switch is in the seat, if at anytime the pto is on and you get off the seat the tractor will turn off. So if you like standing sometimes (I would like to, but can't) while bush hogging or what ever else to see right in front of you, you can't.

The hydro version of the 1523 has a electro-hydraulic independent PTO. It is not effected by the clutch. The PTO system is totally independent of the drive clutch and the transmission. If you are mowing and the mower starts bogging down, you can push the clutch in and raise the RPMs to clear it. The same goes for a snow blower. If you want a standard transmission in the smaller frame, you can get a 1528. It has a two stage clutch. One clutch disc for the drive and the other for the PTO.
