520H fuel pump????

I have a 520H (1988 i think) that wont start after last season, it doesnt appear to be pumping fuel into the filter, am i to assume the fuel pump is bad? It cranks, has spark, fresh fuel, but just wont start. Never had this problem before, Ive owned it about 10 years, just want to make sure thats the problem before i spring for a fuel pump. Its an Onan engine, so the pump is $120 +.......... plugs arent damp at all after cranking..... Thank you,

Take the air cleaner off and put a little gas in the carb,if it fires up you have a fuel problem.

explained the problem to my cousin, who is pretty good with this stuff, told me to take the fuel pump apart and make sure the diaphram is ok and clean. I did that, looked okay, put it back together and after a little cranking started right up and is running good......thank you everyone. Now i can go cut the grass!

Have the same problem. Have taken the fuel pump apart and cleaned it a couple of times. The tractor starts right up after reassembling the pump. It will start fine after that if you don't let it sit too long without running it. But after sitting for several days the pump seems to lose it's prime, and the tractor won't start. The tractor also started after suctioning some gasoline through the filter and pump. I still haven't solved the problem, and am confused as to why the pump works after reassembling it even though it starts out dry. And that kinda shoots down my theory that the pump loses it's prime.
