hello, I have a 1952 8n ford my grandfather gave to me.he bought it at a sale and brought it home and put new rings in it because it hat 8 rings squeezed on I piston:thumbdown: from a p.o. but no matter what it will not fire on no. 2 cylinder after it warms up idiling.it runs great hen first started but after that it wonte fire till about 1000 rpm I thought it had a cracked block cause it looks like mayonnaise on the oil fill cap but it donte use any antifreeze ive ran out of ideas other than it needs a new cylinder or valve work and it starts super easy even on 6v.

do a compression test, dry, then wet.

see if # 2 has much compression...

check distribuitor shaft for play.. play can cause eratic points gap.

lastly. have you replace dthe plug and wire on #2 and the cap, or at least checked it for arc scoring, tracks or cracks?
