2015 John Deere 5115M, 1928 and 1945 hand start John Deere D's,
I would like to swap out the curved exhaust pipe and put on a straight pipe with a rain cap like our 4020 had growing up. Does anyone think this might be a problem with the turbo on our new tractor? I know a similar setup was used right through to some of the '40 series new generation tractors which had turbos. Thanks

Don't think the 5105 has turbo, but that may have changed. Turbo came with 5205 I believe.
Regardless, doubt a rain cap would bother the turbo even so.

No reason a rain flapper would hurt the turbo.

Talked to the service manager at the dealer today and he said no problems. I think I will get a new pipe made up so I don't have to cut up the "fancy" curved pipe that came with it.
