Just wondering about the value of the fuel tank skid plate add on. Looks like it would be good for bush hoggin. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated.

I built one for my LS that has the plastic tank low to the ground. It had a rinky dink one which is the little upturned plate at the left side of the photo which was bolted into the plastic tank which caused the tank to leak, hence my repair and addition to the skid protection. I beefed it up and added some length to it for stick protection.
Not very pretty, but I used what I had and it is functional.

Cheap insurance. One stick through that plastic fuel tank and whataya got? Tractor's down for how long... tank on order... 30-35 gallons of fuel on the ground in the middle of the field somewhere.
Nope - it's an easy choice!

Good luck finding a "store bought" model. I did a little internet searching and did not come up with anything. Built my own. It does provide a good "warm & fuzzy" when in the rough stuff, knowing that all those hyd. lines, springs, filters, tanks, etc. are safe. AKfish's senario put it just right!
