5085E Pwr Reverser after a few mins of running won稚 Tk gear unless you use clutc

Tractor will take gear w/o using Clutch after it’s first cranked but after a few mins of use, you have to clutch every time or you get the dreaded alarm & neutral light flashing :thumbdown:

I’ve bypassed the seat switch : didn’t help

My 5093E & 5101E both take gear every time with no clutch.
This is what I’m used to & & I’m the only operator.

Anybody know of an adjustment or mod I can do to the clutch switch or anything else ?

It sounds like you have a problem in seat switch circuit. The computer can tell if seat switch is bypassed. If it is bypassed for more than a day, it will set a code and not allow the shift the same as if you are not in the seat. Try disconnecting the bypass and then restart the tractor before reconnecting it again to see if it works properly for a day. If it does that proves the wiring to controller is good you probably need a new seat switch. It it still won't work, you may have a bad wire or the controller may be going bad. ANother reason for not bypassing the seat switch is it will eventually drain the battery if not run often enough.

I’ll try that.

What I’m calling bypassing the seat switch :
I actually Unplugged the seat switch & wired the two wires together on tractors wiring harness.

I separated the two seat switch wires from where I had them wired together & tractor would not take gear with OR w/o using clutch.

I wired harness back up to the seat switch like it originally was & it takes gear w/o clutch so far .....

My bulldozer was doing that, and it ended up being the hydraulic filter for the reverser. I am not sure if your tractor has a separate filter for the reverser, but my bulldozer was a John Deere so it might have the same engineering.
