Deere 5065e MFWD
My Owner's manual has conflicting information. I have the 9/3 Sync Shuttle (TSS) transmission with MFWD. In one section it says gearshift lever must be in Park, PTO disengaged to start engine. In another section it says place gearshift lever in neutral with PTO disengaged. It also suggests placing Range selector in neutral. My tractor has always started with gearshift lever in either neutral or Park, with PTO disengaged. And it doesn't matter what position the Range selector is in. When the gearshift is in ANY gear, the tractor won't start. Does that sound correct? I noticed in some U-tubes the 2WD versions actually have a Parking Brake separate from the integrated Park brake in the transmission that is on my tractor.

My 5055e operates in the same manner. As long as the gearshift is in park or neutral, the engine will start.

The square fender tractors had the brake lock under the steering wheel I think pre-15' or so. The new round fender tractors has the park option. It should start in Neutral or Park. I would get use to using park; much safer.

I use Park. FYI: My 5065e was built Oct 2012 and has square metal fenders. I have the Park position in my stick shift (9/3 TSS) transmission. It is forward and all the way right.
