My Owner's manual has a picture of a 2WD front steering spindle with a zerk on it and says to lubricate the front axle steering spindles on both 2WD and MFWD models? I just want to confirm there is no such lubrication on the MFWD axle?

Additionally, on the MFWD axle there are the U-Joints on each side of the solid Dana front axle. Mine don't have grease fittings on them. Is that normal? No way to lubricate those U-joints?

Thanks

From a search I did, looks like the manual recommends lubrication and the Dana axle has no grease fittings for King pins or steering spindles. It is sealed. I still am wondering if the U-joints are intended to be the same way (sealed and permanently lubricated). Does anyone see any grease fittings on their front axle U-joints for an MFWD axle?

Go to the jdparts John Deere - Parts Catalog

Enter model 5065e and this list will come up, then select which tractor you have.. several to pick from. Find the the part, and it will show a grease fitting if there is one, I believe.

I have convinced myself that there are no steering spindles that can be greased on the MFWD Dana front axle. But I am still wondering about the U-Joint on each end of the axle? Mine have the end caps with retaining clips but no zerk. The Owners manual does not mention lubrcating them either. How long will a U-joint last that you can't grease?

I looked at the u-joint in the parts diagram from the link you sent. It does not have a grease fitting. The parts diagram does show a zerk on the axle pivot on front and rear. I do lubricate those. I guess these u-joints are not provided with grease fittings

My 5075E doesn't have any. As long as you don't submerge it in water, you should be good.
