I have been trying to fix the 5020 rockshaft. It has not been working properly. In the depth control mode, the cable does not pull the lever on the control valve far enough to start raising it. I thought the problem was the push-pull cable (too long or broken inside) and so I purchased a new one - but its length and function are identical. When I move the lever manually, it only seems to switch between moving the 3-point arms all the way up or all the way down - there is no in between. The start to raise the arms, the lever needs to be more forward than the push pull cable can bring it. I have the service manual and looked at the adjustment procedure but it essentially assumes that you are starting with the push pull cable that can move the rockshaft arms from top to bottom in the depth mode.

So the question is, is the next step rebuild of the valve? If so, are the special tools described on manual necessary? If so, what would be dealer cost of doing this? Any other ideas? I greatly appreciate your help. TxJim - any ideas?

I forgot to mention, when changing the PTO seal, I noted that there was a small bushing laying inside the rear housing - could this have come off the RS valve?
