The tach on my 5075 E is still working but the needle will move all over the scale when on rough ground. After some research I found that the alternator on these tractors have a tachometer connection. Looking at the alternator from the back it is a spade terminal positioned to the right side. This terminal will read about 7 volts but will fluctuate quite a bit. I ordered a sierra tach # 68398P from amazon ($52) ,this tach is really built for a diesel inboard boat motor and the quality seems really good. I mounted the tach in a canister I had laying around and built a mount to go on the loader control mount on the right side of the instrument panel. The blue wire to the turn signal switch was the best place for me to connect for a hot wire when the key is on. The tach was very easy to calibrate. Place the calibration switch to ( D ) for a 12 pole alternator and then dial it in with the calibration screw. The sierra tach will run within 15 RPM or so with the factory tach and the needle is completely steady with no vibration. I realize this may not work on all of the 5000 series tractors but I hope it will help someone as the members of TBN have helped me several times over the years. This is a 3 3/8'' tach and an installation cup can be ordered also. I did install a 3amp inline fuse at the alternator.
