I am considering purchasing a 5000 series cub cadet. Has anyone out there had experience using one with a 4' bush hog? Was wondering whether it has sufficient power.

From not knowing which model you are looking at, i can tell you that the 23 HP deisel with out-perform the 25 HP gas model. Has quite a bit more torque to it.

Woods makes a Estate Series rotary cutter that should work well with the 5000 series. I have the Woods Estate Series 40" tiller that is no problem for my 5234D to run. I probably could have gone up to the next larger size.

Thanks all for the info. My concern was that the power losses in the hydrostatic transmission will make it difficult to run the bushhog at a reasonable groundspeed. Still haven't decided on anything yet - but the cub is still very high on the list. Even if I decide on a 5000 series cub, I will probably wait until the new models come out to see if there are any changes or new offerings.
