Oil & Fuel 50 hour service

Double check on 50 hour service. Does anyone change the hydraulic oil or just that filter as shown? Thanks.

The other filter is engine....and engine oil.

Some owners do a full hydraulic fluid and filter change at 50h. The manual specifies changing the HST (transmission) filter at 50h and every 200h thereafter. Hydraulic filter and hydraulic oil are both changed at 400h.

Is that in reference to RJ? You might want to get a clue & notice that his L4060 & a L3560 share the same owners manual & maintnance intervals, as do all of the Grand Ls. Just saying.

What does your owners manual say? Yep, Change engine oil and engine oil filter at 50 and one or 2 Hyd filters at 50 and no mention of changing hyd fluid until 200 or 400 hours like my L39xx. You can do what individuals you don't know say because of whatever their reasoning or do what the factory that engineered and made the machine says. Or whatever you want to do and when you want to for whatever reasoning.
Personally I change mine per owners manual for the specific machine. The owners manuals have changed over the years on the same or similar machines so someone may tell you they do what the manual says and they are telling the truth for their 2009 machine but the manual for a 2017 machine may be different. Tolerances and products change and that's life with machines and manufacturing. Some people say one company is following other companies ads of extended maintenance because of sales competition but that is foolish in my opinion with these machines.

I only changed half the hydraulic fluid. The other half I took a bath in after I discovered that the vacuum trick and you dont lose much oil swapping the filter is an urban legend.

It works as long as you get a good seal where the vaccum goes into the fill port. If you don't get a good seal (or it falls out), you get a hydraulic fluid bath...

I changed the oil also. If I'm going to spend thousands on the tractor I don't cheap out on a $100 pail of oil.
