50 hour service on Gc2310

I emailed Amsoil tech services directly with exactly this question. Their recommendation was HDD, their Series 3000 5W30 Heavy Duty Diesel oil as opposed to their 10w30 oil. Now this is for our artic winter and hot summer climate, so 10w30 would probably be the best in more temperate climes.

AMSOIL - Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel

The 5w-30 would be a great choice also, (TBN 12.2), especially in extremely low temperatures. For that, you will burn it off at an ever so slightly higher rate when operating at high temperatures (see Noak Volatility Rating). Good trade in Canada.

Did not know there were python fans in the Great White North, a.

I'm coming up on this service and would like to know what others recommend as far as fluids go and also filters that are comparable to MF. *Don't need to spend a fortune on dealer stuff!!! Anyone have any suggestions???
I just use what the manual states for my Kubota BX23.
If I had A Massey GC 2310 I'd go with what The Massy Manual says.
* Always amazes me how folks think nothing about spending thousands on an expensive tractor then try to scrimp on nickel and dime stuff like fluids and filters.

* Did you have to take the back wheel off to remove the screen?

yes...I actually took both back wheels off....right rear one by mistake because I couldn't remember which wheel to take off :D (it's the left one that you have to remove)

be careful tightening the screen back up...I broke the original one...didn't realize I was that much of a man :d next one I was a little gentler on!

super easy process......if you can remove a couple of bolts and pour fluid, you can do the service.

1*You just spent 15+K with him!
2*Do you own service & you will save about 50% or more.

1*So why concern your self with nickel and dime stuff like filters and fluds?
2*Yep doing it your self is where the real savings are ~ not on penny anty filters and fluids.

The only aftermarket filter I have found so far is a NAPA engine oil filter 1360, the problem is no one stocks it, and the price is about the same! So, unless it is much easier to buy it from NAPA I'm not sure it is even worth worrying about. If anyone has any other cross references I would also be interested in them.
Don't forget the suction screen for the trans. located behind the left wheel. and the front axle oil when you do your 50hr.
If you have not had the backhoe off you are about too. Make sure you connect the two hoses from the tractor together after removing the hoe, before you start the engine. Consider purchasing 12'' extension hoses and put them on the hydraulic hoses when you reconnect the hoe it makes the job much easier to have these hoses a little longer.
I have been using AMSOIL synthetic in the engine, trans., and front axle. It costs more but, has much better specs. especially in low temp. situations.
(i.e. easier starting and little or no warm up needed).
Why would he need to remove the BH ? ? ?

only reason I would see would be easier access to the fill hole for the fluid.....I made a funnel with a piece of clear tubing to get to that darn fill hole.....

1*If the MF GC2310 is anything like the Kubota BX23 there is no need to remove either back wheel.

1*I've changed the Tranny fluid in my BX 23 4 times with out removing the BH or a rear wheel.
2*I use a funnel that has a steel flex spout about 16 inches long.Works great.
Funnels with plastic tubing for spouts don't work near as well as steel spouted ones because the plastic is like trying to stand a rope on end.
