</font><font color="blue" class="small">( no need to remove the front wheels, though. i watched with interest as they drained the front axle, and it did get all over the inside bottom of the wheel and tire, and then drained into a larger drain pan. the drain pan was large enough to catch the oil from the axle and the drippings from the tire.)</font>
The problem is that most of us don't have a drain pan that big. I didn't take my wheels off either but once the fluid started running down the tire, a fair amount missed my fairly small drain pan. Removing the wheels would have prevented that. Next time I think I'll get me a big drain pan. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
The drill pump sounds like a good idea. I got mine filled with no mess, but it is awkward standing on the lower links hoisting a 5 gallon bucket, which must weigh near 50 pounds and pouring it slowly to accomodate the narrow funnel.
