John Deere 3720
I will be buying a box blade soon for my Deere 3720 and am not sure what size to get. The tractor has the 43 hp motor and loaded tires. Sure the six foot one will cover more area per pass but I'm not sure if the machine is big enough to drag a 6' one around.

I think you should be fine with a 6'... the JD 790 (30 or 27 hp) is rated for a 5' box blade... You definately want it big enough to cover your tracks

Go with the 6ft. My JD 3320 pulls a Woods 5 1/2 box blade just fine.

I ran a 5 footer behind my L2800 which was no problem (+/-28 hp). I just bought a 6 footer... man is that BIG. Hopefully, I will pull it (I might have to take smaller bites) not worried about it too much.

I used a 6' behind my 1964 Ford 2000 for years without any problem. By the way, both are for sale, check the classifieds. I intend to buy a 7' BB to use with my 42 HP Mahindra 4X4. That will be 6" wider than my track, allowing me to get closer to things. But, have got to sell the old Ford first  $$$.

go with the 6' -- 43 HP is plenty to move it around and you'll be glad that it covers your tire tracks -- otherwise you'll never get things to level out right, because one tire will be sitting on a ridge.

I've run a LandPride 8 foot heavy duty box blade on my 43 hp Ford 2120 for 20 years and love it. The 2120 may be a larger frame tractor, but I would certainly not go with a narrow 4 foot and would consider an 8 footer.

I have a 45 hp 4wd tractor and my 6' Bush Hog box blade is just right. I think it would pull a 7 footer with ease but the 6' is exactly the width of my rear tires and for my trails and woods roads that's perfect for me. If I was doing everything out in the open, I'd consider a 7 footer.
