5 days without running water so far, and happy birthday for me.

Well pump went down last Friday. Did not know it until after 5 pm, when the stores were closed. Thought It was just another cap, have replaced them a couple of times over the last 25 years since I put the pump in the hole. Using a sump pump to water the garden, sucking from the pond. Filling buckets from the pond to flush. Filling gallon jugs from friends wells for potable water.

What a Pain. And tomorrow is my birthday, and I get to wait around for UPS to deliver the new pump, and controller.

At least I found a strong kid to pull the old pump 120 feet out of the hole for me, But I know that I will be up until midnight getting the water back on.

Remember that all those candles can be a fire hazard with no running water. Hope you have a good one.

Been there done that except it was hurricane Fran back in the nineties. A week with no power so no water also. What a pain in the but. And it always seems to happen when its hot. Hope you get it fixed soon.

The Mormons may be a sort of whacko religion (most are especially that martyr virgin one) but they do have some great ideas about water and food storage. I have Water and food stored for emergency situations and would never have to ask anyone for anything in a real emergency. Think about stocking up on basics just in case. I can last for almost 2 years on my supplies and it wasn't that hard to do. Not a survival nut job, just believe in not relying on anyone if the ship hits the fan for some reason. Just a thought.
