4x4 Pick up truck vs. tractor?

Just saw this thread. Now I have 1 more reason to add to my list of "reason's it's great to be a guy." My previous favorite reason was "We know stuff about tanks." But now I'll have to say this thread tops that. To be sitting around and wonder which would win in pull-off, then go out and hook 'em up and just do it. Now that is a tribute to the American spirit of rugged individualism. I don't want to be around when the chain/strap/rope/cable breaks, but it would be fun to watch a dozer and an excavator go at it! I had a strap break one time, I had to hook two together because I couldn't get my truck close enough. The hooks in the middle nearly went through my rear window when the second strap broke. There's more elasticity in a strap than a chain, so I'd expect the strap to be more dangerous, but the story about a chain killing a guy is pretty convincing.

Well now you've gone this far, it's time to get someone in one of those trucks to help out with the testing

But with that tractor with box blade and I-beam for ballast along with filled tires vs 1/2 ton, I vote for the tractor.

Put some weight in that 1 ton and and get some of that V8 power down to the wheels and it might get interesting

Or see if you can pull the parked tractor with just the 1/2 ton.

I think I see what you're saying, but the only thing is the tractor would basically pull it as far as I want. (on the driveway) But that gives me an idea. I could see if the 1/2 ton will even pull the 1 ton truck, which would be a good indication of which one pulls more. Based on what I've learned so far from this scientific study I'm betting on the tractor. lol

One thing for sure - - the Tractor wont break.

What could we test next? Any military guys got access to a couple of tanks? Or maybe hook a jet to a tank? Or an oil tanker to a battleship? Or a drunk guy on a tricycle to an osterich? Man, this could turn into an annual jamboree!

Back in the days of yore, a few of us put together a truck pull. All the trucks were basically stock.

The load was a 14' disc. Light soil with an uphill grade, 300 yds in length. With the blade and depth settings, an 85 hp 2wd could handle it fairly easily. A 50 hp 2wd could not make a full pull. Pig on the fire and beer in the tub. The stage was set....

18 pickups owners threw in their $50 and backed up to the disc that day. Only 2 made a full pull.

The pulloff was between 2 Fords. My Chevy came close but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Hmmmmmm I wonder what would happen if I hooked my L4200 to my Duramax Diesel 4x4 ??????
