4x30 Series Rumors?

Yah thats the info from deere i got about 2-3 months ago i posted on the jd buying forum about the new tractors and info on that. That is what they had planned reducing the old legacy programs and replacing them with new platforms and reducing # of platforms bye about half. IE 6-7 to 3..

Add most requested addons as standards etc..

And, connect the dots, machines could then be sold by HomeDepot, or some kinda SuperDealer that keeps everything in stock, is setup to move lotsa product. I said 'could'.

I don't have a problem with Home Depot BUT it will be a cold day before I would ever buy a CUT from them. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I really don't expect to see them at HD. MAYBE a "special" series, but I doubt it.

But I do remember some allusion to some king of new arrangment where dealers will have more in inventory, and priced more attractively. It would sure help if the machines had the most popular option already in place fro the factory.

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but what is HID lighting? Do you think the new 4xxx series CUTs will have a redesign of some sort?

Is John Deere now going to build something bigger which would compete with a Kubota L5030 or a New Holland TC55?

The 4710 is not in the same league.

Thanks

Sorry. I really do HATE abrev.! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

HID is High Intensity Discharge lighting. those terribly bright headlights that fancy european cars sport. Deere has been promoting them at JDParts. They are super bright, efficiant, and have no filament so they last longer. Just an idea what more value might mean.

Yup, big changes coming... read this thread and check out other posts by KubotaBling; seems he picks up a lot at the donut shop.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

When does a CUT become an UT?

Hi Mike,

Is the 5000 series as manuverable as the 4000 series?

I noticed a big difference between the Kubota L & M series.

Your mileage may vary, but I was surprised by their maneuverability. But then I expected them to be pretty bad... I would have to defer to owners especially if someone had both...

IFf you ever run a 4710 you will quickly realize they are some seriously powerful machines. My dads tc45d will not even compare to my 4710 I can do twice the work with the loader he can (really) and mow cosiderable quicker as well. The new holland and kubs are in my opinion not as far ahead as people think they are. Deere has very quick and powerful machine I feel. And the NH is not hydro anymore which I will never go back to shifting. Loaders are virtually the same you cannot get the buckets so full as to not be able to lift them anyways. Just my opinion. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Oh yeah the 5320s turn great. Their one heck of a great Deere! We love ours. The cab is really nice. Way better than any Kubota or NH.

I lifted some quotes from gbpackerfan who was shopping a Deere dealer recently:

( JD salesman said I could wait till late June when JD comes out with their new aero hood curved arm loader on their large, chassis not on mid-chassis models.)

( Deere salesman said new front design with some added features and the curved arm designed loader was a response move to NH. He was at a sales mtg. yesterday. He had a picture but it only showed the front third of the tractor. That's all Deere showed them. It looked really good )

(I took the liberty of converting the case from all caps...)

Now I am a little surprised by the curved loader arms. I hope they are still plenty strong, and not just purty. I am almost more surprised at the surprise shown that there were changes a comin' /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif )

Now I am a little surprised by the curved loader arms. I hope they are still plenty strong, and not just purty

In a discussion with a New Holland dealer he explained that the new curved arm loaders were stronger than the previous style because the curved arm was one piece steel. He said if the older style should break, they would break at the welded joint. He thought the curved arm loaders were better lookin' too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

( JD SALESMAN SAID I COULD WAIT TILL LATE JUNE WHEN JD COMES OUT WITH THEIR NEW AERO HOOD CURVED ARM LOADER ON THEIR LRG, CHASSIS NOT ON MID-CHASSIS MODELS. )

Stop the presses ! Changes to their large chassis? I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on a 4710 ( After more then a year of research, conversations, and TBN forum stalking) and now they're changing the model? AGHHHHHHH !?!?!? What now? My property is overdue for the work I wanted to be doing this year and I can't wait 'till June. But if it's much improved, I don't want to miss out. Will it be more expensive? Will there be good incentives on the "old" 4710's? Will it be available in June, but impossible to get ? Will I have to start all over with all this reading, info gathering and forum stalking? Will Kubota have an improved model also? AGHHHHHHHHH !?!?!?!
"SPLAT" (sound of my head exploding)

Footnote: Bought my F-350 Diesel in 2002 and Ford came out with the improved engine and minor exterior upgrades in 2003! I like those nifty signal lights in the mirrors! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Copied the above from a post I put in a different thread

On a serious note..a question for all the Deere-philes...what's a guy to do? Should I wait if at all possible, or forge ahead knowing the 4710 is a great machine? I suppose I could try to find something cheap and used to get me through the next few months, but I'll probably take a loss when I go to sell it. I hate to miss out on better technology at the prices these tractors cost. This decision has been a long time in the making and now it seems I have more information to sift through!

Comments? Suggestions?

I've noticed that when I edit a post that has some sort of formatting in it, the post seems to lose part of that formatting and keep part, resulting in "screwed-up formatting" (using the technical term). /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

When I am editing a post PRIOR to posting, I always use my Back button to return to the previous page, rather than editing at the bottom of the Preview page.

If I am editing a page AFTER posting, I count on reformatting the whole page if it has any special formatting in it.

"Footnote: Bought my F-350 Diesel in 2002 and Ford came out with the improved engine and minor exterior upgrades in 2003! I like those nifty signal lights in the mirrors! ... Comments?"

I'll take you up on the comments! I'm still driving my '95 F250 diesel and have to say that not all that much has really changed when it really comes down to usability. I'll tell you one thing that has, though - the sticker shock! I paid $25k for top of the line extended cab diesel back then. The equivalent F250 is now about $39k and the new top of the line (King Ranch) is mid-40s.

Seriously, regarding your tractor purchase - I bet most of your model homework will still be good. There'll be changes in the details, but it will still be mostly the same tractor. Could be wrong, but that would be my guess.

Not to muddy the waters, but the inside word is "Deere is going to 're-invent' the tractor." So, be prepared. It might not be a big deal. But then again...

What has already been indicated is that popular options will be made part of the standard equipment package. So if you get a good price, and are happy as it sits, then you are good to go.

If I were in your shoes, I'd talk to a couple of dealers about this. They may be at differing stages as to knowing what is coming. Maybe they can offer a solution like a "rental" of something now till the new models arrive. Or maybe they can show you how, for a while the current model is the way to go.

And it might be a while before the new models can get into customers hands.

And don't forget, escalating steel prices may mean that there are higher prices coming...

I feel your pain... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif (I love that line, one of Clinton's enduring legacies)

I wonder how signifigant the changes will be as well. I guess the bottom line is the bottom line - Mike made the point of new model and likely higher prices to go with it. I know for simple business reasons Deere can't raise the price too high or no matter how good it is they won't sell. Someone else made a comment about their older Ford Diesel pick-up and he's right - the function they perform and how well they perform usually isn't changed dramatically with a new model. If a 4710 fits your needs and you like it go for it. You really have to be the one to weigh all this and decide whether to jump or not - But if it were my call I believe I'd get one now if I wanted one now.
