4th of July tractor projects..

Had fun today with the tractor.
1. Used loader to pull my flagpole to put a new rope on. Had to get my flag back up today.
2. Mowed part of the lawn
3. Pushed over 2 dead trees, root came right out on one, one broke at the ground.
4. Pushed a bunch of dead limbs into a pile.
5. Was planning on bush hogging, but stopped when the rain came.
6. filled in some holes with dirt.

Time to go see if they are going to have fireworks, rain has stopped......

sounds like fun, my 4th of july project was replacing the steering rack assembly in my car, last night it started leaking like a sieve... but I now have a new (to me) rack in it from a friend who was parting out a similar model car.

More like buckeyefarmer's weather here. Only 4th of July project was a high speed mowing run when the grass dried to merely damp and before the next rain came. Wish we could send every other rain storm we've had in the last two weeks down to Texas.

I used my 3 pt PHD to drill 7 post holes, then I put in a new bull gate and 15 t posts along with 2, 8" dia gate posts and 5, 6" dia. corner posts to fence off a small section along the hwy ROW.

Then I used my York rake to rake and landscape about 1 acre of land that had recently been worked over by a dozer. The rake did a great job leveling and contouring the soil. It also picks rocks like crazy, it really cleaned up the area.

In between the rain, I began the process of levelling the back portion of my new pasture (I plantd levelled/planted most of it this past spring). The area had some serious ruts (2 ft deep by 3 foot across ruts caused by a CAT tracked dozer that do the clearing). So I knocked in the sides, filled them with some of the burn pile ash, and landscape raked them out. I also began to reshape on small area so that it does not pond in heavy rain.

Soon I will need to get the PHD hooked up and make approx. 75 holes.

I brush hogged my 4 acre pasture and mowed the lawn.

Got stung by a bumble bee.

I took the finish mower to do a job that I should have taken the bush hog too. much slower going and I burned up a belt.

I took down my existing horse corral fencing, stacked it all on some clamp on forks. York raked out a larger area, and then added 7 (16') new panels. Now its safe to drive the pony!!

I sorted 68 ton of barn stone of various lengths making ready for the new patio in the rear of the house. Amazing how much fun dead weight is to play with.
