an old high school friend now has a car and tractor sales, he sells kubotas, soem zetors, and TAFE tractors: he priced a new 4900 with a FEL, with quick disconnects, and hay spike, for $18,000. this seems like a good price, from some of the other prices i have been getting. i am curious about sales tax..most of the equipment companies don't charge sales tax for equipment that is going to be used for working cattle?? anyone know??

As long as you are using it for farm use you are fine heehaw. Just be careful though because they take your name, address, etc. when you do that. If the place you bought from gets audited they will come and look at your operation to make sure it is being used for farm use. If they ask tell them you don't use it for personal use or you will have to pay tax on the % that is used for personal use.

Sounds like a great price - is it 2wd or 4wd?

its 2wd; i just priced the same thing locally, their $1200 higher; to add 4wd is @$3800, $3500 for the 4wd and $300 for the FEL, it takes a different hook-up to clear the tires..
i have another place i'm going to shop at before it decide.
