If you mean the canister containing the mesh material... It may be possible, but a LOT easier removed. Not sure how you'd get a solvent up into the top part, all around inside if you didn't.
On a good day, I can have one off one of my A's, BN, or Super C's in less than 10 minutes. Not sure about the Cub's, but the choke rod on all of mine runs behind the canister, but yet through the bracket, and needs to be taken loose, and slid back out of the bracket. Toughest part is getting the cotter pin out, holding the rod in the carb., working in the blind. Seems all of the ends on the original cotter pins were doubled back over short. I put new ones in, and just spread them just enough to stay in. Just enough, that next time, I can just squeeze them together to remove. Haven't had one come out in 40 years, yet.....

ditto that. take it off and dunk it in yer parts washer and slosh alot. no washer? 5g bucket will do.
My Cub is gift from My Dad,who bought it used from people He didnt know,there is nothing inside the bowl. I put oil in according to the cub Manual. Is there a filter material also that is suppose to be there? Thank you.

the metal floss would be up in the body of the cleaner.

If there is no steel mesh in the top just replace it with course kitchen pot scratchers. They are very close to the original,and if you use the copper one rust is no worry.

that will work, though you can buy the mesh from tractor parts places too.
