Price Check 4720 Price?

On the classifieds here is a JD 4720 with 800h with cab and FEL for $12000. Is this a scam or what?

I would switch from Kubota to Deere and buy the 4720 now at that price!!! The pictures from his/her other listing (Deere 7410) I located on ebay at a much higher price and not from this person. My assumption is if one listing by a person is a scam, most likely both listings are scams.

While this may be a scam it may also be a distressed sale so if you are close by it may be something to check on. If it appears to be a bona fide sale you may want to check with your attorney as to what is the best approach to protect yourself before submitting any personal information or payment.

Very good advice. Never know how many liens or other claims that might be outstanding against the tractor.

I'd say definitely worth checking on it. You never know what someone's motivations might be - liquidation maybe?? Divorce?? Occasionally it's just a firesale, and very rarely it's just a seller with an IQ below 100!!!

Definitely ensure you get a clear title, and check the machine over well too.

I paid 25k CDN for my 2005 open station 4720 with a 400x loader with 350hrs on it. I didn't think that was a smokin' deal, but was good enough for me to pull the trigger on it.

Sounds like a scam to me. I don't know the JD models that well so I could be off base but if that is a relatively recent model 40 something HP with both cab and FEL that price is way low even with 800hrs. I suppose it could be real if there are some service or wear issues but I'd imagine something closer to $20K or above for a cab JD with loader.

More than that! It's a big CUT with 58 0r 66hp(depending on year), with a $5000 cab, and a loader.

Machinefinder has a 2008 with 80+ hrs and loader for 29k+ and a new 2009comparable 4520 cab with fel is about 36k, so it is worth a look.

= pipe dream. That is a valuable tractor and even in a distress sale you would expect them to lose no more than an extra few thousand. This tractor is worth almost twice what they are asking.

While you are most likely correct if you don't check out leads you can't be sure either. I haven't said it is not a scam, only if CLOSE BY to check and see. I have seen women in divorce sell off man toys for less than this.

If it is real it is sold by now. If it was on craigslist it probably was a scam. If they do not post a phone number and only want to communicate by email then it is usallly a scam in my experience.
