Laugh all you want but the point was removing the intercooler makes cleaning the radiator and oil cooler easier.
Let it sink in.

I have a 4720 open station E-Hydro 400hrs running way too warm & has warning lights on at times.

No leaks. Full of coolant. Has ran too warm since I bought with 130hrs.

I only use it for Mowing with 110" RFM. Loader stays off.

Radiator, Intercooler & air filter are all clean.

Muffler gets the fuel in tank hot.

Would removing the Tstat help IF it has one ?

I don't see how a cab unit with AC could stay cool with so much hp crammed in the little engine compartment.

Any Help or Advise ?

Check your thermostat...RE526915...about $15 or less to replace if it fails temperature test

Check your oil level. On my Turf Tiger with a Kubota engine I changed the oil and ended up with a bit too much in it. Only about half a quart. Just thought I would mow a bit with it and see if the filter would make up that excess. Wow. Engine got hot in about 30 minutes. I siphoned out about 2/3rds quart and it runs now cool as ever. The oil level is about 2/3rd the way between "low" and "full". Engine runs very cool now.

JD dealer is 30+ miles away :confused:

I wanted to see where temp gauge runs with Tstat OUT.

This tractor is ONLY used in Summer months to Mow Grass.

I've read all the horror stories lol

When it quits raining & dries up a little, ill post results.

I Mowed with the 4720 today for 1.5hrs at 2,300rpms with the Tstat removed.
The Temp gauge stayed at 12 o clock position the whole time.
10 being cold & 2 being hot.
The oil filter still got hot enough you couldn't hold it.
I could still feel lots of heat off the engine.
Sure made me feel better with needle on gauge not running in the red like it has previously.

Good news BD. Ideally you should now fit a new thermostat. Up to you, however.

Diesel engines like to run hot/warm. The thermostat ensures the engine reaches operating temperature as early as possible so it's not running 'cold' for too long.

As I said - Your call.

Oil filter being too hot to handle is not unusual.

I ran a M6800 Kubota today with a 72 inch rear finish mower at full 540 pto speed in our South Carolina heat. Heat was pouring off of my engine. I may be wrong but just keeping an engine at that rpm seems to run on the hot side with even a light load on the cutter. At least my two Kubota's do. My B2710 runs right at the Hot line often and never with any other job.

I meant engine was getting plenty hot like it's supposed too, with the oil filter comment lol

Bunch of Internet talk said engine wouldn't get up to 195dgrz with Tstat removed.

I just did this yesterday! My little 2305 tractor was running hotter than I though it should.
I found the lower part of the radiator clogged behind where the battery is. Even though I run water thru the radiator regularly because of the dandelion dust and such this time I did a little better. I would say 40% of the rad was plugged. Runs much cooler now. Maybe spray the rad with some engine cleaner and hose it down top to bottom rt to left.
