I used Emachineshop.com to draw up these wings, and had
a local shop make them for me. Due to time constraints
we didn't get time to pre-drill and paint the wings, so I had
to paint them right as I installed them. (they came primed)
overall they came out very good, and the customer seemed
happy with them. We gained 5" total extra width with these
wings.
used .188 material, quite heavy, but being out front and
very vulnerable to damage i wouldn't have wanted them any
lighter.

apologies for the rush paint job! but the snow was
headed our way.

:D

Dutch,

Have you had an opportunity to use the blower since putting them on? If so, how did it work for you? I would also agree that having heavier gauge metal would be my choice also. Been thinking about doing the same with mine. How much wider did it make the blower? I know, so many questions....

Bill,
I am with a dealer and did this for a customer and copied another
TBNer's wing except had them custom built them for this blower. When I delivered the customer's 2720 friday, everything seemed to work well, although
I haven't spoken with the customer yet today.
These wings gained us 5" extra width making the blower 52", enough
to satisfy the 2720 tire treadwidth.

Hiya,

Based on experience with other front mount blowers with add on wings, you may find that the wings will tend to dig in and steer the tractor when going up hills or when encountering small mounds or ripples in the surface.

You would need to relieve the leading edge enough so that when operating on the grades the unit will encounter, the skid shoes would still be the load bearing point, not the front bottom leading edge of the wing.

I actually just had a set of these made. I haven't had a chance to get them on and we are in the midst of a deep freeze right now. I plan on rounding those leading edges to avoid what Tomd mentioned. I don't have much change in grade on my driveways, but the blower is too narrow on the big sweeping bend in our driveway. I am curious as to how your customer likes them, Dutch.
