FX 215
hi my FX 215 yanmar seems to be leaking Diesel in to the engine oil any ideas ?

Three of the most common suspects when your engine is "making" oil in the sump are:
1. leaky injectors
2. worn rings
3. worn block to pump shaft seals behind the injector or hydraulic pump drives.

You will have to pull the injectors to check numbers one and two. Yanmars often require an injector puller. You can make one or Hoye used to rent them. Take the injectors to a diesel test house & also get yourself a diesel type of compression tester. Do not try to use a gasoline engine compression tester.

With any luck it is just an injector rebuild. If you live near the ocean there may be marine diesel shops that are reasonable priced for injector work. But check the compression too.
good luck,

Could also be worn out diaphragm on lift pump if it has one.

Yes, it could. Most tractors have gravity feed to the injector pump, but the FX series was an odd one. It might have a lift pump. Worth checking first before anything else. If the fuel tank is lower than the injector pump it could have a lift pump.
