Yes, take the lower pins out first. When you remove the lower pins, the arms will drop. It also helps to remove any weight from the pins using your stabilizers.

Keep it close to the tractor. The first time I removed my BH it took 3 hours trying to relieve the pressure so I could get the pin out. The trick is to bring the hoe up near the tractor and use the stabilizer arms to relieve the pressure so the various pins can be removed. When you are doing it right they slide right out. When you are doing it wrong you can not ge them out. Follow the directions on the side of the BH. It does mention having the hoe extended but it reallyworks better having the hoe up close. I found it very frustrating at first until I got the hang of it. Now it takes 10 minutes to remove and 15 to reinstal. One thing to keep in mind is how they store them at the dealer. They are bent up all the way. Keep that configuration in mind when you are trying to relieve the pressure on the pins.Good luck.

Lunger,

Like was stated by others...the top link pin comes out last when removing the backhoe and goes in first when putting it back on. Well, actually there are two pins as you know. The pin the arm hooks on comes out last and goes in first. The pin that goes through the hole in the arm, comes out second to last...and goes in second...

I assume yours and mine are the same...even though my is on a B2910. Once you have 3PH arms loose, you can lower or raise them by hand, or you can disconnect one side and move it so you can get that pin out. Then you can use either the stabilizer arms and/or boom/bucket movement to cause the backhoe to lift off the other pin that it hooks over. Then move the tractor forward a little, turn the engine off and remove the pto pump and the pin the arm hooks over. At least that is the way I do it.

Like the others have said, do it a couple times and it almost becomes second nature. Even then, once in a while it seems harder than normal. But once you have done it without much problem a couple times, you have confidence in what you are doing and that makes a big difference, because you KNOW you will get it done and it should not be THAT difficult...

Don't worry...before you know it you will be an old hand at removal/installation. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
